Guelph is a city on the go. And one thing is for sure, the winter doesn’t slow us down! When the temperature dips below zero, the fun starts heating up in Guelph.
1. Skating in Market Square
Strap on some skates and take to the rink to enjoy the downtown scenery. The rink is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. A skate under the stars is a must.
2. Enjoy a hot chocolate at Sweet!
After all of the skating, warm up with a hot cup of cocoa from Sweet! While you’re there, indulge your sweet tooth with some nostalgic candies and classic favourites – you deserve it after all.

3. Groove to live music during Music Weekends
If you love live music but the weather seems so frightful and staying in for the evening cuddled up on your cozy couch seems so delightful – don’t fear! Downtown Guelph presents an awesome line-up of bands playing at various venues in the downtown core Saturday and Sunday afternoons all winter long.

4. Tobogganing at Moe/Mole Hill
A great Guelph debate – is the popular sledding hill actually Moe Hill or Mole Hill? It doesn’t matter what you name it because you’ll be calling it fun after spending the afternoon zipping down the hill on your sled.
5. Discover The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
When the days are just too cold to go outside, head to paradise! Walk amongst thousands of free-flying tropical butterflies just minutes from Guelph. If you’re lucky, a butterfly might land on you. Don’t forget your camera – if there’s no picture, it didn’t happen.

Winter doesn’t slow the Guelph Farmers’ Market down.
