Get a taste of old town under a canopy of trees as you explore around Exhibition Park’s neighbourhood. Slowdown from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy this charming park along with the treats that surround it.
Amongst the trail that weaves through the green space, Exhibition Park features a tennis court, wading pool, natural playground, and baseball field to enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities. Exhibition Park Arena is a popular rink facility in the winter months. More of a spectator? Catch the Guelph Royals, our Intercounty Baseball League team, play at Hasting Stadium in the summer months.
Immersed in History
In 1871, this park land was first used to host the City’s annual exhibition. The park included a horse racing track, exhibition building, livestock sheds and later a bandstand, baseball diamonds and an arena.
Many of the homes and streets surrounding the park harken back to these early days if the Royal City. The Greenbriar House, built in 1865, predates the park itself and still stands as a neoclassical treasure trove in the north-end of the neighbourhood.
You don’t have to go far to grab some food for a picnic or on your way home after an afternoon of play. Hit up the Roobarb Café for a quick treat on-the-go.
Food Trucks are coming back to Exhibition Park in September! Every Tuesday night from 4:30pm to 8pm choose from two food trucks for that special picnics style meal.
Exhibition Park is one of many neighbourhoods to explore in Guelph. Enjoy outdoor activities safely, support #GuelphShops, and rediscover the heart of the Royal City as you #ExploreGuelph.
